Disease Countdown, First Edition

For the past 5 weeks, I have been very closely watching the emergence of very strange viruses and diseases that have been effecting a wide range of people, all over the country.  I have documented each one individually, but the list keeps growing.  Here is a short list to get you up to date:

1.  Pertussis – “Whooping Cough”
2.  Fatal rash caused by staph infection
3.  “Flesh Eating Bacteria”, also a staph infection
4.  The Bubonic Plague
5.  Ebola
6.  Capnocytophaga – Woman lost hands and feet from dog saliva
7.  Untreatable Gonorrhea
8.  Kid died from a brain destroying ameoba, found in a lake
9.  West Nile Virus
10.  Hantavirus
11.  Rabies
12.  Typhus

And lucky thirteen is the recent outbreak of…

13.  Legionnaires Disease!  Two guests of the Marriott in downtown Chicago died, and a few others came down with the disease.  While this is not fatal to those with healthy immune systems, it can have up to a 30% mortality rate.  This is the 13th strange outbreak in the past year, and this one happened at a very upscale hotel in downtown Chicago.

Cycle through my “Viruses, Bacteria, Plagues, and Disease” category to follow all the original reports.  I will be updating as more information comes in.

The Yosemite Files: Contagion in Curry Village: *UPDATE*

There has been a second death at the Curry Village in Yosemite.  My report on the first death is here.  According to the article, another person has died, and two others are sick.  20% of the ticks on the rodents are infected, and it has a 33% mortality rate.  That’s incredibly high.  Also they claim that before these events, only 2 other people have been infected since 2000.  You can read the whole thing here.

Black Hawk Down Jackets

Special Ops is conducting training exercises in Downtown Minneapolis.   They want to practice in an Urban Environment.  Hmmmm how many American-like cities are there in the Middle East?  Methinks (and I am not alone) that this training might be for us.  As I pointed out here, here and here, several agencies are gearing up for domestic riots, and civil unrest.  Just yesterday I read this article by Jim Rogers, a highly respected investment adviser, who says that everything is going to come to a head after this upcoming election.  He is just one guy, but it is just another warning in an alarming trend that the higher powers are preparing for something.  Even the US government sent this warning to the top financial agencies, telling them to put plans in place for the collapse of the economy.

Bigfoot Squashing

A Montana man was struck and killed on a highway pretending to be Bigfoot.  If that doesn’t deserve a Darwin award, I don’t know what does.  This fool had on a sniper-like outfit, and was trying to provoke people into calling in a Bigfoot sighting.  While doing this, he was struck by a 15 year old, and a 17 year old driving to school.  Let’s ignore the fact that a 15 year old was driving.  Now, because of this idiot, two High School girls have to live with the fact that they accidentally killed a man.  I could spend hours trying to convince them they did the world a favor, but that is not going to change their lives from this point on.

I am not one to wish harm on others, not am I happy this happened.  I think Karma had a part to play.  While I do not take Bigfoot seriously, others do.  It is moronic hoaxers like this that ruin, and muddy the waters for people who take these subjects seriously and want to get to the bottom of the mysteries of the world.

Age ain’t nuthin’ but a number (In this case, it’s 116).

Way before the Funk Freedom Press was founded, the ole Funklord had an obsession with the world’s oldest people.  I fine it absolutely fascinating that in the past few years, there has been so much movement and change in the “World’s Oldest Person” category.

Currently topping the ranks is adorable Besse Cooper, born in 1896 in Tennessee, just some 50 years after the Civil War.  She was 50 years removed from Lincoln, 33 when the Stock Market crashed, and was 64 when Kennedy was elected.  Telegraph/Telegram/Telephone/Smartphone.  I wish I could get an hour with her.  One hour to ask her to briefly gloss over her 116 years of life.   In this youth obsessed society we forget how important our senior generations are.  They have lived through it all, they have seen it all.  They are living history.  How have her feelings changed?  How have her values changed?

I could go on and on.  Read the article.  It has some interesting stuff on World records as well.
