This is one of those things that makes me so upset with our society as a whole. We will do anything, and even pay more money in the spirit of convenience. Here is a classic example. Two companies are currently vying for you wallet, your digital wallet. Google and Apple have concocted a scheme to digitally store (on their servers of course, and we all know how safe they can be) your credit cards, store discount cards, and Drivers license. Oh, and this story just broke about how Apple got hacked, disclosing 12 million Unique user ID. Is it really that hard to carry around a wallet? What else are back pockets for, and this is coming from a guy with a 5 inch thick bi-fold in his trousers. Is almost certain identify theft worth keeping your wallet at home? I just don’t get it.

The Yosemite Files: Contagion in Curry Village: Day 19
Yosemite’s problems are still coming in, to the tune of thousands a day. The park is doing the right thing (as if they had a choice) by notifying people worldwide, whom have stayed in their signature series of cabin in Curry Village. The potentially infected numbers in the thousands. Apparently the problem has been blamed on a design flaw in the cabins themselves. Threat of the hantavirus has discouraged people from coming out for their biggest weekend of the summer. Lots of cancellations. I don’t understand why Curry Village getting all the blame. There are rodents all over the park.
My prediction:Â Curry Village will become The Turmeric Tents by next summer.
Inflation is a B%$#@
In Ann Arbor Michigan, a man called the cops because he claims a prostitute raised the agreed price AFTER taking his money. Instantaneous inflation! Where was Ben Bernanke on that one?  The police did the right thing and arrested her. Is not a person’s word their (bail) bond? The report also goes on to say that the two people told police vastly different stories. I don’t think he asked for his price to be jacked up…
Real Bionic (Wo)men
In Australia, a woman was implanted with a real bionic eye, just like Steve Austin (Not Stone Cold #3:16). It works by stimulating the retina, and that stimulation creates an image in the brain. It has to be calibrated to make sure what the person is seeing is actually there. This has several uses besides sight. You could make just about anything appear I imagine. Could you hack into the eye and make the person go on a simulated acid trip?
One funny note, and I am not making this up, the technology was tested on blind three mice first. I don’t know how involved the farmer’s wife was in the overall process.
Fukushima is still a thing
Out of site, out of mind has been the theme of this Tokyo tragedy. The bazillion gallons of radioactive water they let poison our ocean is starting to show effects. This video shows how TEPCO is testing fish within 20 Kilometers (12 miles for my US readers), and they have found levels 380 times the government limit. That is NOT an amount that will disappear any time soon. They are going to start testing fish and shell fish 50 Kilometers (31 again for the metric impaired), and we will see what that reveals.
